Coupage 2011 was the point at which vineyard, partnership and patience became a McC wine.
Coupage 2011
A beginning in four varieties.
Merlot. Malbec. Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon.
Those four varieties came together in the first McC Coupage, harvested in 2011. The wine established an approach that would remain central to the estate: blending for character rather than conformity, using time as part of the process, and resisting the urge to rush a wine into the market.
Three years later, that first vintage received a Bronze medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards.

Why keep the first vintage?
Because it explains what came later.
Old vintages are more than inventory. They hold decisions: what was planted, what was picked, what was blended, how long people were prepared to wait and what the estate believed it could become.
Coupage 2011 belongs to the McC archive for that reason. The current Coupage belongs to the present — and to the shop.
